Tomato Pinworm

Description

 

  • adults are gray moths 1/4 inch long
  • larvae are light orange at first
  • become purplish black with maturity and
  • larve up to 1/4 inch

Damage

 

  • larval feeding is similar to leafminer damage to plants
  • larvae later invade stems and fruits
  • invaded fruit are useless for canning purposes
