Description

  • typically green or pale green
  • may be brown or even brightly colored
  • aster leafhopper is brownish gray with 6 spots on the head
  • wedge shaped adults and immatures
  • 1/6 to 1/4 inch long

Damage

 

  • feeding causes curled leaves, stunted growth, or dwarfing of plants
  • aster leafhopper transmits aster yellows disease
  • beet leafhopper may transmit curly top disease
